Q1: Surah Yusuf in which para?

A: Surah Yusuf is in Para 12 (Juz 12) of the Quran. It begins at Ayah 1 (12:1) and  Ayah 111 (12:1).

Surah Yusuf  English Translation

1. Alif, Lam, Ra. These are verses from a Book that is crystal clear.

2. We revealed it as an Arabic Qur’an so that you may truly understand.

3. We are telling you the best of stories through this Qur’an, even though before this you didn’t know it.

4. Yusuf once said to his father: “Father, I saw in a dream eleven stars, along with the sun and the moon. I saw them all bowing down to me.”

5. His father replied: “My dear son, don’t share your dream with your brothers, or they will plot against you. Surely, Satan is a clear enemy to mankind.”

6. He continued: “Your Lord will choose you, teach you how to interpret dreams, and complete His favor upon you and the family of Jacob, just as He did for Ibrahim and Ishaq before you. Your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

7. In Yusuf and his brothers there are lessons for anyone who seeks understanding.

8. The brothers once said: “Yusuf and his brother are more loved by our father than we are, even though we are a strong group. Clearly, our father is mistaken.”

9. “Let’s get rid of Yusuf. Either kill him or cast him far away, so our father’s attention will be only on us. Then, afterwards, we can become righteous again.”

10. One of them suggested: “Don’t kill Yusuf. Instead, throw him into the bottom of a well. Some travelers will eventually find him and take him away.”

11. They said to their father: “Father, why don’t you trust us with Yusuf? We only wish the best for him.”

12. “Send him with us tomorrow so he can enjoy himself and play. We’ll take good care of him.”

13. Their father replied: “It really saddens me that you want to take him away. I fear a wolf might eat him while you’re not paying attention.”

14. They answered: “If a wolf eats him when we are such a strong group, then we’d be truly useless!”

15. When they took him away and agreed to throw him into the bottom of the well, We inspired Yusuf: “One day, you will remind them of this, while they won’t recognize you.”

16. That night, they came back to their father crying.

17. They said: “Father, we went racing with each other and left Yusuf with our belongings, and a wolf ate him. But you won’t believe us even though we’re telling the truth.”

18. They showed him Yusuf’s shirt, stained with false blood. He said: “No, your souls have tricked you into this. But I will have patience. Allah is the One whose help I seek against what you claim.”

19. Later, a caravan passed by. They sent someone to fetch water, and when he lowered his bucket, he shouted: “Good news! Here’s a boy!” They hid him as merchandise. But Allah knew exactly what they were doing.

20. They sold him for a cheap price — just a few silver coins — and thought little of him.

21. The man from Egypt who bought him said to his wife: “Take good care of him. Maybe he’ll benefit us, or we might adopt him as a son.” That’s how We gave Yusuf a place in the land, teaching him how to interpret dreams. Allah always carries out His plan, but most people don’t realize it.

22. When Yusuf grew into manhood, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward those who do good.

23. The woman in whose house he lived tried to seduce him. She locked the doors and said: “Come to me.” He replied: “I seek protection in Allah! My master has treated me kindly. Surely, wrongdoers never succeed.”

24. She desired him, and he too might have inclined towards her had he not seen the clear sign from his Lord. This was how We kept him away from sin and shame. He was truly one of Our chosen servants.

25. They ran to the door, and she tore his shirt from behind. They found her husband at the door. She cried: “What should be the punishment for someone who intended evil for your wife, except prison or a painful penalty?”

26. Yusuf said: “No, it was she who tried to seduce me.” A witness from her family said: *“If his shirt is torn from the front, then she’s telling the truth and he is lying.

27. But if his shirt is torn from the back, then she is lying and he is truthful.”*

28. When he saw the shirt torn from behind, he said: “This is surely one of your tricks, women! Your tricks are great indeed.”

29. “Yusuf, ignore this. And you, woman, ask forgiveness for your sin. You were truly at fault.”

30. Women in the city began gossiping: “The governor’s wife is trying to seduce her servant! She’s deeply in love with him. We see her as clearly misguided.”

31. When she heard their gossip, she invited them, prepared a banquet, and gave each one a knife. Then she told Yusuf: “Come out before them.” When they saw him, they were stunned and cut their hands, exclaiming: “This is no human! This must be a noble angel.”

32. She said: “This is the man you blamed me for. Yes, I tried to seduce him, but he resisted. If he doesn’t do what I tell him, he will surely be imprisoned and disgraced.”

33. Yusuf prayed: “My Lord, I would rather be in prison than do what they’re inviting me to. If You don’t protect me from their plots, I might give in and become one of the ignorant.”

34. So his Lord answered his prayer and protected him from their schemes. Indeed, Allah hears and knows everything.

35. Even after seeing the truth, they still thought it best to imprison him for a while.

36. Two young men entered the prison with him. One said: “I dreamt that I was squeezing wine.” The other said: “I dreamt that I was carrying bread on my head and birds were eating from it. Tell us the meaning of this, for we see you as someone who does good.”

37. Yusuf said: “Before the food you’re given comes to you, I’ll tell you its meaning. This is knowledge my Lord has taught me. I have left the religion of people who don’t believe in Allah or the Hereafter.”

38. “Instead, I follow the way of my forefathers: Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ya’qub. We would never associate anything with Allah. This is Allah’s blessing on us and all people, but most don’t show gratitude.”

39. “My two prison companions! Which is better: many different lords, or Allah — the One, the All-Powerful?”

40. “You worship only names you and your forefathers invented. Allah has revealed no authority for them. Judgment belongs only to Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. That is the true religion, but most people don’t know.”

41. “My prison companions, listen: one of you will serve wine to his master. The other will be crucified, and birds will eat from his head. This matter has been decided.”

42. Yusuf told the one he thought would be saved: “Mention me to your master.” But Satan made him forget to mention Yusuf to his master, so Yusuf remained in prison for several more years.

43. The king once said: “I saw a dream of seven fat cows eaten by seven lean ones, and seven green ears of grain and seven dry ones. O chiefs, explain this dream to me, if you can.”

44. They said: “These are just mixed-up dreams. We don’t know how to interpret such things.”

45. The man who was saved remembered after a long time and said: “I’ll tell you its interpretation. Send me.”

46. He came to Yusuf and said: “Yusuf, truthful one! Explain to us the dream of seven fat cows eaten by seven lean ones, and seven green ears of grain and seven dry ones, so I can return to the people and let them know.”

47. Yusuf said: “You will plant for seven years continuously. Leave what you harvest in its ear, except for a little you eat.”

48. “Then after that will come seven tough years that will consume what you saved, except for a little you keep stored.”

49. “After that will come a year with plenty of rain, and people will press grapes and olives.”

50. The king said: “Bring him to me.” But when the messenger came, Yusuf said: “Go back to your master and ask him about the women who cut their hands. Surely, my Lord knows all about their plots.”

51. The king asked the women, “What happened when you tried to tempt Joseph?” They replied, “God forbid! We found no wrongdoing in him.” Then the governor’s wife admitted, “Now the truth has come to light. It was I who tried to seduce him. Surely, he is an honest man.”

52. Joseph said, “I wanted my master to know I did not betray him in his absence, for God does not guide those who betray and lie.”

53. He continued, “I do not claim to be free of faults, for the soul inclines toward desire—unless my Lord shows mercy. Truly, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”

54. The king said, “Bring him to me, and I will keep him in my service.” When he spoke to Joseph, he said, “Today, you have a high position and full trust with us.”

55. Joseph replied, “Appoint me over the storehouses of the land, for I am trustworthy and knowledgeable.”

56. And so We gave Joseph authority in the land to settle wherever he wished. We grant Our mercy to whomever We will, and We never let the reward of those who do good be lost.

57. But the reward of the Hereafter is even better for those who believe and remain mindful of God.

58. Joseph’s brothers came and entered upon him. He recognized them, but they did not recognize him.

59. When he had given them their provisions, he said, “Bring me your brother from your father’s side. Don’t you see that I give full measure and am the best of hosts?”

60. “But if you do not bring him,” Joseph warned, “you will get no more supplies from me, nor will you be allowed to approach me.”

61. They replied, “We will try to persuade his father to send him, and we will surely do it.”

62. Joseph told his servants, “Put their money back into their bags, so that they might recognize it when they return home, and perhaps they will come back again.”

63. When they returned to their father, they said, “Father, we will be denied more supplies unless you send our brother with us. Send him with us, and we promise to take good care of him.”

64. He said, “Shall I trust you with him as I once trusted you with his brother? But God is the best Protector, and He is the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.”

65. When they opened their bags, they discovered their money had been returned. They said, “Father! What more could we ask for? Our money has been returned to us! We can bring supplies for our family, take care of our brother, and even gain another load of provisions. This is an easy gain.”

66. Their father said, “I will not send him with you unless you swear before God that you will bring him back to me—unless you are completely overpowered.” When they gave their oath, he said, “God is witness over what we say.”

67. Then he said, “My sons, do not all enter through one gate; enter through different gates. But I cannot protect you against what God wills. Judgment belongs only to Him. In Him I place my trust, and let all who trust, place their trust in Him.”

68. When they entered as their father had instructed, it did not protect them against God’s will—it only satisfied a need in Jacob’s heart. Surely, he was a man of knowledge, because We had taught him. But most people do not realize this.

69. When they entered upon Joseph, he drew his brother close and whispered, “I am your brother, so don’t be distressed by what they used to do.”

70. After he had given them their provisions, Joseph placed the king’s drinking cup in his brother’s bag. Then a crier called out, “O people of the caravan! You are thieves!”

71. They turned and asked, “What have you lost?”

72. They said, “We have lost the king’s measuring cup, and whoever brings it will have a camel-load of grain. I guarantee this.”

73. The brothers replied, “By God, you know well we did not come here to cause trouble, nor are we thieves.”

74. They said, “What should be the penalty if you are lying?”

75. They replied, “The penalty should be that the one in whose bag the cup is found will himself be taken as punishment. That is how we punish wrongdoers.”

76. So Joseph began searching their bags before his brother’s, then finally brought it out of his brother’s bag. In this way, We planned for Joseph, for he could not have taken his brother under the king’s law unless God willed it. We raise in rank whom We will, and above everyone who has knowledge, is the All-Knowing.

77. They said, “If he has stolen, a brother of his stole before him.” But Joseph kept his feelings to himself and did not reveal anything to them. He thought, “You are in a worse position. God knows best what you claim.”

78. They said, “O governor, he has an elderly father. Take one of us in his place, for we see you as one who does good.”

79. Joseph replied, “God forbid that we take anyone except the one in whose bag we found our property. If we did that, we would surely be wrongdoers.”

80. When they lost hope in him, they withdrew and spoke in private. The eldest among them said, “Do you not know that your father took a solemn promise from you before God, and that you failed earlier with Joseph? I will not leave this land until my father permits me, or God decides for me, for He is the best of judges.”

81. “Go back to your father and say: Father, your son has stolen. We only speak what we know, and we could not guard against the unseen.

82. Ask the people of the town where we were, and the caravan we traveled with. We are telling the truth.”

83. Jacob said, “No, rather your souls have tempted you to do something. Patience is best. Perhaps God will bring them all back to me. Surely, He alone is the All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

84. He turned away from them and said, “How deeply I grieve for Joseph!” His eyes turned white with sorrow, for he was suppressing his pain.

85. They said, “By God, you will keep remembering Joseph until you waste away or become one of those who perish.”

86. He said, “I only complain of my suffering and sorrow to God, and I know from God what you do not know.

87. My sons, go and search for Joseph and his brother, and do not lose hope in God’s mercy. No one loses hope in God’s mercy except those who disbelieve.”

88. So when they entered upon Joseph, they said, “O governor, hardship has struck us and our family. We have come with poor goods, but please give us full measure and be charitable to us. Surely, God rewards those who give in charity.”

89. He said, “Do you realize what you did to Joseph and his brother when you were ignorant?”

90. They said, “Are you truly Joseph?” He replied, “I am Joseph, and this is my brother. God has indeed been gracious to us. Whoever is mindful of God and patient—surely God does not let the reward of those who do good go to waste.”

91. They said, “By God, God has truly chosen you over us, and we were indeed sinners.”

92. He said, “There will be no blame on you today. May God forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

93. “Take this shirt of mine and cast it over my father’s face; he will regain his sight. Then bring me your entire family.”

94. When the caravan set out, their father said, “I can smell the scent of Joseph, even if you think I am deluded.”

95. They said, “By God, you are still lost in your old obsession.”

96. Then when the bearer of good news came and placed the shirt over his face, his eyesight returned. He said, “Did I not tell you that I know from God what you do not know?”

97. They said, “Father, pray for our forgiveness for our sins; surely we were wrongdoers.”

98. He said, “I will ask my Lord to forgive you. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”

99. When they entered upon Joseph, he embraced his parents and said, “Enter Egypt in safety, if God wills.”

100. He raised his parents upon the throne, and they all bowed to him in respect. He said, “Father, this is the fulfillment of my dream long ago. My Lord has made it come true. He was good to me when He brought me out of prison and brought you all here from the desert after Satan had stirred up discord between me and my brothers. Truly, my Lord is Gentle in what He wills. He is the All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

101. Then he prayed, “My Lord, You have given me power and taught me the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die as one who submits to You, and join me with the righteous.”

102. This is part of the unseen news We reveal to you, O Prophet. You were not present with them when they plotted their plans.

103. Yet most people will not believe, even though you eagerly desire it.

104. And you do not ask them for any reward for it. This is only a reminder for the worlds.

105. How many signs in the heavens and the earth do they pass by, yet they turn away from them?

106. Most of them do not believe in God except while associating partners with Him.

107. Do they feel secure that an overwhelming punishment from God will not come upon them, or that the Hour will not come suddenly while they are unaware?

108. Say, “This is my way: I call to God with insight—I and those who follow me. Glory be to God, and I am not of those who associate partners with Him.”

109. We only sent men before you as messengers, chosen from the people of the towns. Have they not traveled through the land and seen what became of those before them? The home of the Hereafter is far better for those who are mindful of God. Will you not use reason?

110. When the messengers lost hope and thought they were denied, Our help came to them. We saved whom We willed, but Our punishment cannot be turned away from the guilty people.

Surah Yusuf Urdu Translation

1. الف، لام، را۔ یہ کتاب کی روشن آیات ہیں۔
2. ہم نے اسے عربی قرآن بنا کر نازل کیا تاکہ تم سمجھ سکو۔
3. ہم بہترین قصے سناتے ہیں اس وحی کے ذریعے جو ہم نے تمہاری طرف بھیجی ہے، حالانکہ اس سے پہلے تم بے خبر تھے۔

4. جب یوسفؑ نے اپنے باپ سے کہا: “ابا جان! میں نے خواب میں دیکھا ہے کہ گیارہ ستارے، سورج اور چاند مجھے سجدہ کر رہے ہیں۔”
5. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “بیٹے! اپنا خواب اپنے بھائیوں کو نہ سنانا ورنہ وہ تمہارے خلاف سازش کریں گے۔ بے شک شیطان انسان کا کھلا دشمن ہے۔
6. اسی طرح تمہارا رب تمہیں چُن لے گا، تمہیں خوابوں کی تعبیر سکھائے گا اور اپنی نعمت تم پر اور آل یعقوب پر پوری کرے گا، جیسے پہلے ابراہیمؑ اور اسحاقؑ پر کی تھی۔ بے شک، تمہارا رب علم اور حکمت والا ہے۔”

7. یقیناً یوسفؑ اور ان کے بھائیوں میں پوچھنے والوں کے لیے نشانیاں ہیں۔
8. جب انہوں نے کہا: “یوسفؑ اور اس کا بھائی ہمارے باپ کو ہم سے زیادہ محبوب ہیں، حالانکہ ہم ایک مضبوط گروہ ہیں۔ ہمارے باپ تو کھلی گمراہی میں ہیں۔
9. یوسفؑ کو قتل کر دو یا کسی اور جگہ پھینک دو تاکہ باپ کی محبت صرف ہم پر ہو جائے، پھر ہم نیک بن جائیں گے۔”
10. ایک نے کہا: “یوسفؑ کو قتل نہ کرو بلکہ اسے کنویں کی تہہ میں ڈال دو، کوئی قافلہ اسے نکال لے گا۔”

11. انہوں نے کہا: “ابا جان! آپ یوسفؑ کو ہمارے ساتھ کیوں نہیں بھیجتے؟ ہم تو اس کے خیرخواہ ہیں۔
12. کل اسے ہمارے ساتھ بھیج دیجیے، وہ کھیلے گا اور کھائے گا، اور ہم اس کی حفاظت کریں گے۔”
13. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ تم اسے لے جاؤ اور کہیں بھیڑیا اسے نہ کھا جائے، اور تم غافل رہو۔”
14. انہوں نے کہا: “اگر بھیڑیا اسے کھا جائے حالانکہ ہم ایک طاقتور گروہ ہیں، تو پھر ہم بالکل نکمے ہوئے۔”

15. جب وہ اسے لے گئے اور طے کر لیا کہ اسے کنویں کی تہہ میں ڈال دیں، ہم نے یوسفؑ کو وحی کی: “ایک وقت آئے گا کہ تم انہیں ان کے اس کام کی حقیقت بتاؤ گے اور وہ تمہیں پہچان نہ سکیں گے۔”
16. وہ شام کو روتے ہوئے اپنے باپ کے پاس آئے۔
17. کہنے لگے: “ابا جان! ہم دوڑنے میں لگ گئے اور یوسفؑ کو سامان کے پاس چھوڑ دیا تو بھیڑیا اسے کھا گیا۔ لیکن آپ یقین نہ کریں گے چاہے ہم سچے ہی ہوں۔”
18. اور انہوں نے یوسفؑ کا خون آلود قمیص دکھایا۔ یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “بلکہ تمہارے دل نے یہ کام تمہارے لیے آسان کر دیا ہے۔ صبر ہی بہتر ہے، اور جو تم بیان کر رہے ہو اس پر اللہ ہی مددگار ہے۔”

19. ایک قافلہ آیا اور اپنے پانی والے کو بھیجا۔ اس نے ڈول لٹکایا اور کہا: “خوشخبری! یہ تو ایک لڑکا ہے۔” انہوں نے اسے چھپایا کہ یہ مال ہے، حالانکہ اللہ خوب جانتا تھا جو وہ کر رہے تھے۔
20. انہوں نے یوسفؑ کو سستے داموں، چند درہموں کے عوض بیچ دیا، اور وہ اس کے بارے میں بے رغبت تھے۔

21. مصر کا ایک شخص جس نے اسے خریدا، اپنی بیوی سے بولا: “اسے عزت سے رکھو، شاید یہ ہمیں فائدہ دے یا ہم اسے بیٹا بنا لیں۔” اسی طرح ہم نے یوسفؑ کو زمین میں جگہ دی اور خوابوں کی تعبیر سکھائی۔ اللہ اپنے کام پر غالب ہے، مگر اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے۔
22. جب یوسفؑ جوانی کو پہنچے، ہم نے انہیں حکمت اور علم دیا۔ نیکوکاروں کو ہم اسی طرح نوازتے ہیں۔

23. جس عورت کے گھر یوسفؑ تھے، اس نے انہیں قابو میں کرنا چاہا۔ اس نے دروازے بند کر کے کہا: “آؤ!” یوسفؑ نے کہا: “اللہ کی پناہ! وہ جس نے مجھے عزت دی ہے، میں اس کے ساتھ خیانت نہیں کروں گا۔ بے شک ظالم کامیاب نہیں ہوتے۔”
24. اس عورت نے یوسفؑ کی طرف قصد کیا، اور وہ بھی قصد کرتے اگر اپنے رب کی دلیل نہ دیکھتے۔ اسی طرح ہم نے برائی اور بے حیائی کو ان سے دور کیا۔ وہ ہمارے مخلص بندوں میں سے تھے۔

25. دونوں دروازے کی طرف دوڑے اور عورت نے یوسفؑ کا کُرتا پیچھے سے پھاڑ دیا۔ دروازے پر اس کے شوہر کو پایا۔ عورت نے کہا: “جو شخص تمہاری بیوی کے ساتھ برا ارادہ کرے اس کی سزا کیا ہے؟ جیل یا دردناک عذاب؟”
26. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “یہی عورت مجھے اپنے قابو میں کرنا چاہتی تھی۔” عورت کے گھر کے ایک فرد نے گواہی دی: “اگر اس کا کُرتا آگے سے پھٹا ہے تو یہ عورت سچی ہے اور یوسفؑ جھوٹے ہیں۔
27. اور اگر اس کا کُرتا پیچھے سے پھٹا ہے تو یہ جھوٹی ہے اور یوسفؑ سچے ہیں۔”
28. جب اس نے دیکھا کہ یوسفؑ کا کُرتا پیچھے سے پھٹا ہے تو کہا: “یہ تمہاری عورتوں کی چال ہے۔ تمہاری چال بڑی سخت ہے۔
29. یوسفؑ! اس بات کو بھول جاؤ، اور عورت! اپنے گناہ کی معافی مانگو۔ بے شک تم خطاکار ہو۔”

30. شہر کی عورتیں کہنے لگیں: “گورنر کی بیوی اپنے غلام کو قابو میں کرنے کی کوشش کر رہی ہے۔ وہ اس کی محبت میں دیوانی ہو گئی ہے۔ ہم اسے کھلی گمراہی میں دیکھتے ہیں۔”
31. جب اس نے ان کی باتیں سنیں تو انہیں بلایا، ان کے لیے مجلس تیار کی اور ہر ایک کو چھری دی۔ پھر کہا: “یوسفؑ! ان کے سامنے آ جاؤ۔” جب انہوں نے انہیں دیکھا تو حیران رہ گئیں اور اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ لیے، اور کہا: “اللہ کی پناہ! یہ انسان نہیں بلکہ کوئی عظیم فرشتہ ہے۔”
32. عورت نے کہا: “یہ وہی ہے جس کے بارے میں تم مجھے ملامت کر رہی تھیں۔ میں نے اسے قابو میں کرنا چاہا مگر یہ بچ نکلا۔ اگر اس نے میری بات نہ مانی تو یہ قید کیا جائے گا اور ذلیل ہوگا۔”
33. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “اے میرے رب! جیل مجھے زیادہ پسند ہے اس کام سے جو یہ لوگ مجھ سے چاہتے ہیں۔ اگر تو ان کی چال کو مجھ سے نہ ہٹائے تو میں ان کی طرف مائل ہو جاؤں گا اور جاہلوں میں سے بن جاؤں گا۔”
34. تو ان کے رب نے ان کی دعا قبول کی اور عورتوں کی چال ان سے دور کر دی۔ بے شک وہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے۔
35. پھر ان لوگوں کو یہ بات اچھی لگی کہ کچھ وقت کے لیے انہیں قید کر دیا جائے۔

36. یوسفؑ کے ساتھ جیل میں دو نوجوان بھی داخل ہوئے۔ ایک نے کہا: “میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ میں شراب نچوڑ رہا ہوں۔” دوسرے نے کہا: “میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ اپنے سر پر روٹیاں اٹھائے ہوں اور پرندے ان کو کھا رہے ہیں۔ ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتائیے، ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ نیک لوگوں میں سے ہیں۔”

37. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “تمہیں جو کھانا ملتا ہے وہ آنے سے پہلے ہی میں اس کی خبر دے دوں گا۔ یہ میرے رب نے مجھے سکھایا ہے۔ میں ان لوگوں کا دین چھوڑ چکا ہوں جو اللہ کا انکار کرتے ہیں اور آخرت کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔

38. میں اپنے باپ دادا ابراہیمؑ، اسحاقؑ اور یعقوبؑ کے دین پر ہوں۔ ہمارے لیے یہ جائز نہیں کہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک ٹھہرائیں۔ یہ اللہ کا فضل ہے ہم پر اور لوگوں پر، لیکن اکثر لوگ شکر نہیں کرتے۔

39. اے جیل کے دونوں ساتھیو! کیا الگ الگ کئی رب بہتر ہیں یا ایک اللہ جو سب پر غالب ہے؟

40. تم اللہ کے سوا جن کی پوجا کرتے ہو وہ صرف نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے رکھ لیے ہیں۔ اللہ نے ان کی کوئی دلیل نازل نہیں کی۔ فیصلہ صرف اللہ کا ہے۔ اسی نے حکم دیا ہے کہ اس کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو۔ یہی سیدھا دین ہے، لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے۔

41. اے جیل کے ساتھیو! تمہارے خواب کی تعبیر یہ ہے: تم میں سے ایک اپنے مالک کو شراب پلائے گا، اور دوسرا سولی پر چڑھایا جائے گا اور پرندے اس کا سر نوچیں گے۔ وہی فیصلہ ہے جس کے بارے میں تم نے سوال کیا تھا۔

42. یوسفؑ نے ان دونوں میں سے جس کے بارے میں سمجھا تھا کہ وہ بچ جائے گا، اس سے کہا: “اپنے مالک کے سامنے میرا ذکر کرنا۔” لیکن شیطان نے اسے بھلا دیا کہ وہ اپنے مالک سے ذکر کرے۔ اس وجہ سے یوسفؑ کئی سال جیل میں رہے۔

43. ایک دن بادشاہ نے کہا: “میں نے خواب میں دیکھا سات موٹی گائیں ہیں جنہیں سات دبلی گائیں کھا رہی ہیں۔ اور سات سبز بالیاں ہیں اور سات خشک ہیں۔ اے دربار والو! اگر تم خواب کی تعبیر جانتے ہو تو مجھے بتاؤ۔”

44. انہوں نے کہا: “یہ تو پریشان خواب ہیں اور ہم ان کی تعبیر نہیں جانتے۔”

45. ان دونوں میں سے جو بچ گیا تھا اور برسوں بعد اسے یاد آیا، اس نے کہا: “میں تمہیں اس کی تعبیر بتا سکتا ہوں، مجھے بھیج دو۔”

46. وہ یوسفؑ کے پاس آیا اور کہا: “یوسف! اے سچے شخص! ہمیں اس خواب کی تعبیر بتاؤ کہ سات موٹی گائیں ہیں جنہیں سات دبلی کھا رہی ہیں، اور سات سبز بالیاں ہیں اور سات خشک۔ شاید میں لوگوں کے پاس واپس جاؤں تاکہ وہ جان لیں۔”

47. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “تم لگاتار سات سال کھیتی کرو گے، جو کاٹو اسے بالیوں میں ہی رہنے دو سوائے تھوڑا جو تم کھاؤ۔

48. پھر اس کے بعد سات سخت سال آئیں گے جو سب کچھ کھا جائیں گے جو تم نے پہلے ذخیرہ کیا ہوگا، سوائے تھوڑے جو تم بچا سکو گے۔

49. پھر اس کے بعد ایک سال آئے گا جس میں بارش ہوگی اور لوگ اس میں رس نچوڑیں گے۔”

50. بادشاہ نے کہا: “اسے میرے پاس لے آؤ!” لیکن جب قاصد آیا تو یوسفؑ نے کہا: “اپنے مالک کے پاس واپس جاؤ اور اس سے پوچھو کہ ان عورتوں کا کیا حال ہے جنہوں نے اپنے ہاتھ کاٹے تھے۔ میرا رب ان کی سازش جانتا ہے۔”

51. بادشاہ نے ان عورتوں سے پوچھا: “تمہارا کیا معاملہ تھا جب تم نے یوسفؑ کو اپنی طرف مائل کرنا چاہا؟” انہوں نے کہا: “اللہ کی پناہ! ہم نے یوسفؑ میں کوئی برائی نہیں دیکھی۔” اس وقت عزیز کی بیوی بولی: “اب حق کھل گیا۔ میں نے ہی اسے اپنی طرف مائل کرنا چاہا تھا، اور یوسفؑ بالکل سچے ہیں۔”

52. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “یہ اس لیے تاکہ بادشاہ جان لے کہ میں نے اس کی غیر موجودگی میں خیانت نہیں کی، اور اللہ خیانت کرنے والوں کے منصوبوں کو کامیاب نہیں کرتا۔”

53. میں اپنے نفس کو بری نہیں ٹھہراتا، کیونکہ نفس تو برائی پر ابھارتا ہے، مگر جس پر میرا رب رحم کرے۔ بے شک میرا رب بہت بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

54. بادشاہ نے کہا: “یوسف کو میرے پاس لے آؤ، میں اسے اپنے خاص کام کے لیے رکھوں گا۔” جب یوسفؑ سے بات کی گئی تو بادشاہ نے کہا: “آج سے تم ہمارے پاس ایک معزز اور قابلِ اعتماد شخص ہو۔”

55. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “مجھے زمین کے خزانوں پر مقرر کر دیجیے، میں حفاظت کرنے والا اور علم رکھنے والا ہوں۔”

56. اس طرح ہم نے یوسفؑ کو زمین میں اقتدار دیا۔ وہ جہاں چاہتے تھے رہتے تھے۔ ہم اپنی رحمت جسے چاہتے ہیں دیتے ہیں، اور نیکوکاروں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتے۔

57. اور آخرت کا اجر ان لوگوں کے لیے زیادہ بہتر ہے جو ایمان لائے اور اللہ سے ڈرتے ہیں۔

58. یوسفؑ کے بھائی مصر آئے اور ان کے پاس حاضر ہوئے۔ یوسفؑ نے انہیں پہچان لیا لیکن وہ نہ پہچان سکے۔

59. جب یوسفؑ نے ان کا سامان تیار کر دیا تو کہا: “آئندہ اپنے بھائی کو بھی میرے پاس لانا۔ کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں کہ میں پورا ناپ کر دیتا ہوں اور بہترین مہمان نوازی کرتا ہوں؟

60. اگر تم اسے نہ لائے تو میرے پاس کوئی غلہ نہیں ملے گا، اور تم میرے قریب بھی نہ آنا۔”

61. انہوں نے کہا: “ہم اس کے لیے اس کے باپ کو راضی کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے، اور ہم یہ ضرور کریں گے۔”

62. یوسفؑ نے اپنے نوکروں سے کہا کہ ان کا مال ان کے سامان میں واپس رکھ دو تاکہ جب وہ اپنے گھر پہنچیں تو اسے پہچانیں اور شاید دوبارہ آ جائیں۔

63. جب وہ اپنے باپ کے پاس واپس آئے تو کہا: “ابّا! ہمیں آئندہ غلہ دینے سے روک دیا گیا ہے، لہٰذا ہمارے بھائی کو ہمارے ساتھ بھیج دیجیے تاکہ ہمیں غلہ ملے۔ اور ہم اس کی پوری حفاظت کریں گے۔”

64. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “کیا میں تم پر اسی طرح اعتبار کروں جس طرح پہلے یوسفؑ کے بارے میں کیا تھا؟ اللہ بہترین محافظ ہے اور وہ سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والا ہے۔”

65. جب انہوں نے اپنا سامان کھولا تو دیکھا کہ ان کا مال بھی واپس رکھا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا: “ابّا! ہمیں اور کیا چاہیے؟ یہ ہے ہمارا مال جو واپس دے دیا گیا۔ ہم اپنے گھر والوں کے لیے مزید غلہ لائیں گے، اپنے بھائی کی حفاظت کریں گے اور ایک اونٹ کا بوجھ اور زیادہ لائیں گے۔ یہ بوجھ آسان ہے۔”

66. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “میں ہرگز اسے تمہارے ساتھ نہ بھیجوں گا جب تک کہ تم اللہ کے نام پر پختہ عہد نہ کرو کہ تم اسے واپس لاؤ گے، سوائے اس کے کہ تم سب گھیر لیے جاؤ۔” جب انہوں نے عہد کیا تو یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “اللہ ہمارے قول پر نگران ہے۔”

67. پھر کہا: “بیٹو! ایک ہی دروازے سے مت داخل ہونا بلکہ مختلف دروازوں سے جانا۔ مگر جان رکھو کہ میں اللہ کی تقدیر کو تم سے ٹال نہیں سکتا۔ حکم تو صرف اللہ کا چلتا ہے، اسی پر میرا بھروسہ ہے اور سب کو اسی پر بھروسہ کرنا چاہیے۔”

68. جب وہ شہر میں داخل ہوئے جیسا کہ ان کے باپ نے کہا تھا، تو یہ تدبیر ان کے لیے اللہ کی تقدیر سے کچھ بھی نہ بچا سکی، مگر یعقوبؑ کے دل کی ایک خواہش پوری ہو گئی۔ یقیناً وہ علم والے تھے، کیونکہ ہم نے انہیں سکھایا تھا، لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے۔

69. جب وہ یوسفؑ کے پاس آئے تو اس نے اپنے بھائی کو اپنے قریب بٹھایا اور کہا: “میں ہی تمہارا بھائی ہوں، جو کچھ یہ کر رہے ہیں غم نہ کرو۔”

70. جب یوسفؑ نے ان کا سامان تیار کیا تو اپنے بھائی کے سامان میں بادشاہ کا پیمانہ رکھ دیا۔ پھر ایک پکارنے والے نے آواز دی: “اے قافلے والو! تم چور ہو!”

71. وہ مڑ کر کہنے لگے: “تم کیا چیز ڈھونڈ رہے ہو؟”

72. انہوں نے کہا: “ہم بادشاہ کا پیمانہ ڈھونڈ رہے ہیں، اور جو اسے لائے گا اسے ایک اونٹ کا بوجھ انعام ملے گا۔ میں اس کا ضامن ہوں۔”

73. انہوں نے کہا: “اللہ کی قسم! تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ ہم اس ملک میں فساد کرنے نہیں آئے اور نہ ہی ہم چور ہیں۔”

74. انہوں نے کہا: “اگر تم جھوٹے نکلے تو چور کی سزا کیا ہوگی؟”

75. انہوں نے کہا: “جس کے سامان میں وہ چیز نکلے، وہی اس کی سزا میں رکھا جائے گا۔ ہم ظالموں کو اسی طرح سزا دیتے ہیں۔”

76. تب یوسفؑ نے اپنے بھائی کے سامان سے پہلے ان کے باقی سامان کی تلاشی لی، پھر اپنے بھائی کے سامان سے پیمانہ نکالا۔ اس طرح ہم نے یوسفؑ کے لیے یہ تدبیر کی۔ وہ بادشاہ کے قانون کے مطابق اپنے بھائی کو نہ روک سکتے تھے مگر اللہ کی مشیت سے۔ ہم جس کے چاہیں درجے بلند کرتے ہیں، اور ہر علم والے سے بڑھ کر ایک علم والا ہے۔

77. انہوں نے کہا: “اگر یہ چوری کر بیٹھا ہے تو اس کا بھائی بھی پہلے چوری کر چکا تھا۔” یوسفؑ نے یہ بات اپنے دل میں چھپا لی اور ان سے ظاہر نہ کیا۔ دل میں کہا: “تمہارا حال بدتر ہے، اور اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے جو تم بیان کر رہے ہو۔”

78. انہوں نے کہا: “اے عزیز! اس کا ایک بوڑھا باپ ہے، لہٰذا اس کی جگہ ہم میں سے کسی کو رکھ لیجیے۔ ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ بڑے نیک ہیں۔”

79. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “اللہ کی پناہ کہ ہم کسی اور کو روکیں سوائے اس کے جس کے پاس ہم نے اپنا سامان پایا۔ اگر ایسا کریں گے تو ہم ظالم ہوں گے۔”

80. جب وہ یوسفؑ سے مایوس ہو گئے تو الگ بیٹھ کر سرگوشی کرنے لگے۔ ان میں بڑے نے کہا: “کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ تمہارے باپ نے اللہ کے نام پر پختہ عہد لیا تھا اور پہلے یوسفؑ کے بارے میں بھی تم کوتاہی کر چکے ہو؟ تو میں ہرگز اس زمین سے نہیں جاؤں گا جب تک کہ میرے باپ اجازت نہ دیں یا اللہ کوئی فیصلہ نہ کر دے، اور وہ سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے۔”

سورۃ یوسف (آیت 81 – 110)

81. تم اپنے باپ کے پاس واپس جاؤ اور کہو: “ابّا! آپ کے بیٹے نے چوری کی ہے۔ ہم نے وہی گواہی دی جو ہم نے دیکھی، ہم غیب کے نگہبان نہیں ہیں۔

82. آپ اس بستی کے لوگوں سے پوچھ لیجیے جہاں ہم تھے اور اس قافلے سے بھی جن کے ساتھ ہم آئے ہیں۔ ہم سچ کہہ رہے ہیں۔”

83. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “بلکہ تمہارے دل نے یہ کام تمہارے لیے آسان بنا دیا ہے۔ اب صبر بہتر ہے۔ امید ہے کہ اللہ ان سب کو میرے پاس لے آئے گا۔ بے شک وہی سب کچھ جاننے والا، حکمت والا ہے۔”

84. اور وہ ان سے منہ موڑ گئے اور کہا: “ہائے افسوس یوسفؑ پر!” اور ان کی آنکھیں غم سے سفید ہو گئیں، اور وہ غم کو پی جاتے تھے۔

85. بیٹوں نے کہا: “اللہ کی قسم! آپ ہمیشہ یوسفؑ کو یاد کرتے رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ بیماری سے لاغر ہو جائیں یا مر جائیں۔”

86. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “میں اپنا دکھ اور غم صرف اللہ کے سامنے بیان کرتا ہوں، اور اللہ کی طرف سے وہ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے۔

87. اے میرے بیٹو! جاؤ اور یوسفؑ اور اس کے بھائی کو تلاش کرو اور اللہ کی رحمت سے ناامید نہ ہو۔ اللہ کی رحمت سے صرف کافر ہی ناامید ہوتے ہیں۔”

88. پھر جب وہ یوسفؑ کے پاس آئے تو کہا: “اے عزیز! ہمیں اور ہمارے گھر والوں کو سخت مصیبت پہنچی ہے، اور ہم تھوڑا سا سامان لائے ہیں۔ آپ پورا ناپ دیجئے اور ہم پر صدقہ کیجیے۔ بے شک اللہ صدقہ کرنے والوں کو بدلہ دیتا ہے۔”

89. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “کیا تمہیں یاد ہے جب تم نے یوسفؑ اور اس کے بھائی کے ساتھ نادانی سے برتاؤ کیا تھا؟”

90. وہ بولے: “کیا تم ہی یوسف ہو؟” یوسفؑ نے کہا: “ہاں، میں یوسف ہوں اور یہ میرا بھائی ہے۔ اللہ نے ہم پر احسان کیا۔ بے شک جو تقویٰ کرے اور صبر کرے، اللہ نیکوکاروں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتا۔”

91. وہ بولے: “اللہ کی قسم! اللہ نے تمہیں ہم پر برتری دی ہے، اور ہم خطاکار تھے۔”

92. یوسفؑ نے کہا: “آج تم پر کوئی الزام نہیں۔ اللہ تمہیں معاف کرے اور وہ سب سے بڑھ کر رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

93. یہ میرا کُرتا لے جاؤ اور میرے باپ کے چہرے پر ڈال دو، ان کی بینائی واپس آ جائے گی۔ اور اپنے سب گھر والوں کو میرے پاس لے آؤ۔”

94. جب قافلہ روانہ ہوا تو یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “اگر تم مجھے بُڑھاپے کی کمزوری کا طعنہ نہ دیتے تو میں کہہ دیتا کہ مجھے یوسفؑ کی خوشبو آ رہی ہے۔”

95. لوگوں نے کہا: “اللہ کی قسم! آپ اب بھی پرانے وہم میں ہیں۔”

96. پھر جب خوشخبری دینے والا آیا اور اس نے کُرتا یعقوبؑ کے چہرے پر ڈالا تو ان کی بینائی واپس آ گئی۔ انہوں نے کہا: “کیا میں نے تم سے نہیں کہا تھا کہ میں اللہ کی طرف سے وہ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے؟”

97. بیٹوں نے کہا: “ابّا! ہمارے لیے اللہ سے معافی مانگئے، بے شک ہم خطاکار تھے۔”

98. یعقوبؑ نے کہا: “میں جلد ہی اپنے رب سے تمہارے لیے معافی مانگوں گا۔ بے شک وہی بہت بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔”

99. جب وہ سب یوسفؑ کے پاس پہنچے تو اس نے اپنے والدین کو اپنے پاس جگہ دی اور کہا: “مصر میں داخل ہو جاؤ، اللہ نے چاہا تو امن و سلامتی کے ساتھ۔”

100. اس نے اپنے والدین کو تخت پر بٹھایا اور سب اس کے سامنے سجدے میں گر گئے۔ یوسفؑ نے کہا: “ابا! یہ میرے پہلے خواب کی تعبیر ہے۔ میرے رب نے اسے سچ کر دکھایا۔ اس نے مجھ پر بڑا احسان کیا کہ مجھے جیل سے نکالا اور آپ سب کو دیہات سے لے آیا جبکہ شیطان نے میرے اور میرے بھائیوں کے درمیان فساد ڈال دیا تھا۔ بے شک میرا رب جس چیز کو چاہے تدبیر سے کر دیتا ہے۔ وہ علم والا اور حکمت والا ہے۔”

101. “اے میرے رب! تو نے مجھے بادشاہت دی اور خوابوں کی تعبیر سکھائی۔ آسمانوں اور زمین کے پیدا کرنے والے! تو دنیا اور آخرت میں میرا ولی ہے۔ مجھے اسلام پر موت دے اور مجھے نیک بندوں میں شامل کر۔”

102. یہ غیب کی خبریں ہیں جو ہم تم پر وحی کرتے ہیں۔ تم ان کے پاس موجود نہ تھے جب وہ اپنے کام پر اتفاق کر رہے تھے اور سازش کر رہے تھے۔

103. اور اگرچہ تم خواہ کتنی ہی چاہت رکھو، زیادہ لوگ ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہیں۔

104. اور تم ان سے اس (قرآن) کے بدلے کوئی اجر نہیں مانگ رہے۔ یہ تو سب جہانوں کے لیے نصیحت ہے۔

105. آسمانوں اور زمین میں کتنی ہی نشانیاں ہیں جن پر لوگ گزرتے ہیں لیکن ان سے منہ موڑ لیتے ہیں۔

106. اور ان میں سے اکثر لوگ اللہ پر ایمان نہیں لاتے مگر اس کے ساتھ شریک بھی ٹھہراتے ہیں۔

107. کیا وہ اس بات سے بے خوف ہیں کہ ان پر اللہ کا عذاب اچانک آ جائے یا قیامت اچانک ان پر آ جائے اور وہ بے خبر ہوں؟

108. کہہ دو: “یہ میرا راستہ ہے، میں اللہ کی طرف بلاتا ہوں پوری بصیرت کے ساتھ، میں اور وہ لوگ جو میرے پیچھے چلے ہیں۔ اللہ پاک ہے اور میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں۔”

109. ہم نے تم سے پہلے بھی بستیوں کے رہنے والوں میں سے ہی آدمیوں کو بھیجا جن پر ہم وحی کرتے تھے۔ کیا وہ زمین میں چل پھر کر نہیں دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوا؟ اور آخرت کا گھر تو ان لوگوں کے لیے بہتر ہے جو اللہ سے ڈرتے ہیں۔ کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں؟

110. یہاں تک کہ جب رسول مایوس ہو گئے اور لوگ سمجھنے لگے کہ ان سے جھوٹ بولا گیا ہے تو ہماری مدد ان کے پاس آ گئی۔ پھر ہم نے جسے چاہا بچا لیا، اور ہمارا عذاب مجرموں سے ٹلتا نہیں۔

Surah Yusuf Hindi Translation

1. अलिफ़, लाम, रा। ये किताब की आयतें हैं जो स्पष्ट और हिकमत वाली हैं।
2. हमने इसे अरबी क़ुरआन बनाया ताकि तुम समझ सको।
3. (हे नबी) हम तुम्हें सबसे बेहतरीन क़िस्सा सुनाते हैं, जो हमने इस क़ुरआन में वह़्यी किया है, और पहले तुम इससे अनजान थे।
4. जब यूसुफ़ ने अपने पिता से कहा: “अब्बा! मैंने ख़्वाब में देखा कि ग्यारह सितारे, सूरज और चाँद मुझे सज्दा कर रहे हैं।”
5. उन्होंने कहा: “बेटे! अपना सपना भाइयों से मत कहना, वरना वे तुम्हारे ख़िलाफ़ चाल चलेंगे। शैतान इंसान का खुला दुश्मन है।”
6. और ऐसे ही तुम्हारा रब तुम्हें चुन लेगा, और तुम्हें ख़्वाबों की ताबीर सिखाएगा, और अपनी नेमत तुम पर और याक़ूब के घराने पर पूरी करेगा, जैसे पहले तुम्हारे बाप-दादाओं पर की थी—इब्राहीम और इस्हाक़ पर। निस्संदेह तुम्हारा रब सब कुछ जानने वाला, हिकमत वाला है।

7. यूसुफ़ और उनके भाइयों में पूछने वालों के लिए निशानियाँ हैं।
8. उन्होंने कहा: “यूसुफ़ और उसका भाई हमारे बाप को हमसे ज़्यादा प्यारे हैं, हालाँकि हम (ताक़तवर) गिरोह हैं। बेशक, हमारे बाप साफ़ ग़लती पर हैं।”
9. “यूसुफ़ को क़त्ल कर दो या कहीं दूर फेंक दो, ताकि तुम्हारे बाप का ध्यान सिर्फ़ तुम पर रहे, और फिर तुम नेक लोग बन जाना।”
10. उनमें से एक ने कहा: “यूसुफ़ को मत मारो, बल्कि उसे कुएँ की गहराई में डाल दो, ताकि कोई कारवाँ उसे उठा ले।”

11. उन्होंने कहा: “अब्बा! आप यूसुफ़ को हमारे साथ क्यों नहीं भेजते? हम उसके भलेख़्वाह हैं।”
12. “कल उसे हमारे साथ भेज दीजिए, वह खेलेगा और मस्त रहेगा, और हम उसकी हिफ़ाज़त करेंगे।”
13. उन्होंने कहा: “तुम्हारा उसे ले जाना मुझे दुख देता है, और मुझे डर है कि कहीं उसे भेड़िया न खा जाए, जबकि तुम ग़फ़लत में हो।”
14. उन्होंने कहा: “अगर भेड़िया उसे खा जाए और हम इतने लोग रहते हुए उसकी मदद न कर पाएँ, तो हम बिल्कुल ही बेकार हैं।”

15. जब उन्होंने उसे ले जाकर कुएँ में डाल दिया, हमने उसकी ओर वह़्यी की: “एक दिन तुम उन्हें उनके इस काम की ख़बर दोगे, और वे पहचान न पाएँगे।”
16. शाम को वे रोते हुए अपने पिता के पास आए।
17. बोले: “अब्बा! हम दौड़ में लगे रहे और यूसुफ़ को सामान के पास छोड़ दिया, तो भेड़िया उसे खा गया। आप हमारी बात पर यक़ीन नहीं करेंगे, चाहे हम सच्चे ही क्यों न हों।”
18. और वे उसका झूठा ख़ून लगा हुआ कमीज़ ले आए। याक़ूब ने कहा: “नहीं, बल्कि तुम्हारे मन ने एक बात गढ़ ली है। अब सब्र करना ही अच्छा है। और जो कुछ तुम बयान कर रहे हो, उसके बारे में अल्लाह से मदद माँगता हूँ।”

19. उधर एक क़ाफ़िला आया, उन्होंने पानी भरने वाला भेजा। उसने बाल्टी डाली और कहा: “खुशख़बरी! यह तो एक लड़का है।” उन्होंने उसे माल-ए-तिजारत समझकर छिपा लिया। अल्लाह जानता था कि वे क्या कर रहे थे।
20. और उन्होंने उसे थोड़ी-सी क़ीमत पर बेच दिया—कुछ दिरहम गिनकर—और वे उसकी क़ीमत के बारे में बेपरवाह थे।

21. मिस्र का वह आदमी जिसने उसे खरीदा, अपनी बीवी से बोला: “इसकी इज़्ज़त से देखभाल करो। शायद हमें फ़ायदा दे या हम इसे बेटा बना लें।” इस तरह हमने यूसुफ़ को उस ज़मीन में क़ायम किया और ताकि उसे ख़्वाबों की ताबीर सिखाएँ। अल्लाह अपने काम पर ग़ालिब है, लेकिन ज़्यादातर लोग नहीं जानते।
22. और जब वह अपनी जवानी को पहुँचा, हमने उसे हिकमत और इल्म दिया। और नेक लोगों को हम इसी तरह बदला देते हैं।

23. और जिस औरत के घर वह थे, उसने उन्हें फुसलाना चाहा। उसने दरवाज़े बंद कर दिए और कहा: “आ जाओ।” उन्होंने कहा: “अल्लाह की पनाह! वह (तुम्हारा शौहर) मेरा मालिक है, जिसने मुझे अच्छा रखा है। ज़ालिम काम करने वालों का भला नहीं होता।”
24. वह भी उनकी तरफ़ इच्छुक थी, और अगर उन्होंने अपने रब की दलील न देखी होती तो वह भी इच्छुक हो जाते। इस तरह हुआ ताकि हम उससे बुराई और बेहयाई को टाल दें। निस्संदेह, वह हमारे चुने हुए बन्दों में से थे।

25. दोनों दरवाज़े की तरफ़ भागे, और उसने उनका क़मीज़ पीछे से फाड़ दिया। दरवाज़े पर उन्होंने उसके शौहर को पा लिया। उसने कहा: “जो तेरी बीवी पर नज़र डाले उसका क्या सज़ा है, सिवाय इसके कि उसे जेल हो या दर्दनाक अज़ाब मिले?”
26. यूसुफ़ ने कहा: “यह उसी ने मुझे फुसलाना चाहा।” और उस औरत के घर के एक गवाह ने गवाही दी: “अगर उसका क़मीज़ आगे से फटा है तो यह सच कह रही है और वह झूठों में से है।”
27. “और अगर उसका क़मीज़ पीछे से फटा है, तो यह झूठी है और वह सच्चों में से है।”
28. जब उसके शौहर ने देखा कि क़मीज़ पीछे से फटा है, तो कहा: “यह तुम्हारी चाल है। निस्संदेह, तुम्हारी चाल बहुत बड़ी है।”
